1. Be respectful
- Treat everyone with courtesy, whatever their gender, religion, caste, community, region, language, sexuality or disability.
- No harassment, bullying, threats, insults, stalking or repeated unwanted contact.
- No hate speech or content that attacks people for who they are.
- If someone asks you to stop, stop.
2. No sexual content
- TalkWith is not a dating or adult service. No sexual conversation, flirting for sexual purposes, nudity or sexually explicit images, audio or video.
- No requests for or offers of sexual services.
- Anything that sexualises minors is banned without exception and reported to the authorities. See our Child Safety Standards.
3. Keep it on TalkWith
- Don’t ask for or share phone numbers, social media handles, email addresses, home addresses or payment details.
- Don’t ask to pay or be paid outside the app. Off-app payments are not protected and are a common route to fraud.
- Partners must not invite customers to meet in person or to use another service.
4. Respect privacy
- Don’t record calls or video, or publish screenshots of conversations, without the other person’s consent.
- Don’t share other people’s personal information.
- What someone tells you in confidence stays in the conversation.
5. Be honest
- Use your real age. You must be 18 or older.
- Don’t impersonate anyone, including TalkWith staff, or run more than one account.
- Partners must describe their experience and skills truthfully and must not promise guaranteed results, cures or outcomes.
- No scams, fake reviews, rating manipulation, or misuse of refunds and promotions.
6. No harmful advice
- Partners must not give medical, psychiatric, legal or financial advice they are not qualified and licensed to give, or tell anyone to stop medical treatment.
- Astrological remedies must never involve buying costly items or services, or paying anyone outside TalkWith.
- No content that encourages self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, violence, or illegal drugs, weapons or gambling.
7. If someone is in crisis
If you are thinking about harming yourself, or someone you are talking to says they are, please reach out for help straight away. Partners should gently encourage the person to contact these services:
| Service | Number |
|---|---|
| Emergency (police, ambulance, fire) | 112 |
| Tele-MANAS, national mental health helpline (free, 24×7, many languages) | 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 |
| Women Helpline | 181 |
| CHILDLINE | 1098 |
| Cyber crime helpline | 1930 |
Then report the conversation in the app so our safety team knows.
8. Live sessions
- Live chat is public. Everything above applies, and messages are checked automatically for harmful content.
- Hosts can remove and ban viewers who break the rules; TalkWith can end any live session that breaks them.
- Gifts must never be demanded or exchanged for promises of special treatment.
9. Reporting and enforcement
Report anything that feels wrong from inside the app: open the profile, chat, call or live session and tap Report. You can also block anyone instantly. Reports are reviewed by our team, usually within 24 hours, and the person you report is not told who reported them.
Depending on how serious a breach is, we may:
- remove the content or end a live session;
- warn the account;
- restrict features or suspend the account for a period;
- permanently ban the account and any others belonging to the same person;
- withhold partner earnings made through the breach; and
- report the matter to law enforcement.
If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal through our grievance process or write to safety@talkwithapp.com.
