1. What is prohibited
The following are strictly prohibited on TalkWith, in chats, calls, video, live sessions, profiles and anywhere else:
- Any content that sexualises minors, including images, video, audio, text, drawings or AI-generated material.
- Sharing, requesting, producing or linking to child sexual abuse material.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor to sexually exploit or abuse them, or to move them to another platform.
- Sextortion, trafficking or any sexual solicitation involving a minor.
- Any sexual conversation or content with a person who says, or appears to be, under 18.
- Content that promotes or normalises the abuse of children.
2. An adults-only service
- You must be 18 or older to create a TalkWith account. Our Terms of Use say so, and the apps are rated for adults on the app stores.
- Every partner’s identity and age are verified against a government ID and PAN before they can talk to anyone.
- Accounts we find or reasonably believe to belong to someone under 18 are closed.
- Partners never see customers’ phone numbers, and users cannot share contact details to move conversations off the app.
3. How we detect and prevent it
- In-app reporting everywhere: any user, message, call or live session can be reported from inside the app, with a dedicated reason, “This person is under 18”, alongside sexual content and other harms.
- Automated live-chat checks: messages in live sessions are checked by an AI safety model. Content in the child sexual exploitation category ends the live session immediately and is sent for human review.
- Human review: our trust and safety team reviews reports, with CSAE reports treated as the highest priority.
- Profile checks: partner photos, videos and profile text are reviewed, and can be taken down at any time.
- Blocking: anyone can block another user instantly, stopping all contact.
4. What we do when we find it
- Remove the content and end any live session involved, as fast as possible.
- Permanently ban the accounts involved and block them from returning.
- Preserve the relevant records securely, as the law requires, for investigators.
- Report it to the appropriate authorities: in India, through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and to law enforcement under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000; and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or other regional authorities where applicable.
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement requests.
5. How to report
- In the app: open the profile, chat, call or live session, tap the menu and choose Report, then “This person is under 18” or “Sexual content”.
- By email: safety@talkwithapp.com. Include the person’s display name, where it happened and when. Please do not attach or forward abusive images.
- By phone: +91 97371 75300.
We acknowledge CSAE reports within 24 hours and act on them as our highest priority.
6. Child safety point of contact
